the story behind it

Created during the end of lockdown in early 2021, The Springsbury Bird Hoax was the first short film I produced. Working closely with the co-writers, we developed a script that placed emphasis on originality, both in its production and story.

The script featured many locations, the building of a shed set (which then had to be transported to a forest), a dead bird, a live bird, older actors, several extras, voice actors and more. All things that pushed me and the team in terms of what we could do for our first student short film.

It confirmed to me the passion I felt for fiction filmmaking and provided me a glimpse into what was possible. I hope you can see the love and passion that was put by myself and the crew into its production.
